After the Texas House of Representatives voted to phase out all red light cameras in the state of Texas, 11 News has learned City of Houston officials are quietly developing plans to keep the city’s 70 cameras operating anyway. We are looking at options,” said Frank Michel, a spokesman for Mayor Bill White. Michel pointed to the city of Arlington, Texas, which he said has just extended its contract with a red light camera operator by 20 years.
