The safety “experts” at Redflex are at it again. This time the cities of El Paso, Houston, Corpus Christi among others have done the proverbial bend over and take it from this dangerous foreign corporation. They have allowed the red light automated ticketing machines to be placed in intersections with shorter yellows than others in the city. As if it wasn’t bad enough to have yellow lights that are one second shorter, why not add to the danger with the distraction of a scam cam?
This type of logic will ensure these cities can expect more rear end collisions and more property damage. We can only hope that somebody puts a stop to this practice before more lives are lost in exchange for revenue. TheNewspaper.com features a story about the intersections which could probably all be made safer with consistent timing, rather than Redflex’s hidden taxation scam under the guise of safety
